A lovely and welcoming primary school in Carshalton is seeking a full-time male Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil within the school. The school is keen to bring the right candidate in for a trial day as soon as possible, with the intention of starting immediately.
About the Role
This is a full-time, 1:1 Teaching Assistant role supporting a child throughout the school day. You will work closely with the class teacher and to help the pupil access learning, follow routines, and develop socially and emotionally within a calm and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing consistent 1:1 support for a pupil
* Supporting learning, engagement and classroom behaviour
* Helping the pupil access the curriculum and remain focused
* Building a positive, trusting relationship with the child
* Working closely with teaching staff and SENCo
* Supporting the child both in class and during transitions
What We’re Looking For
* Male candidates only (essential for role requirements and positive role modelling)
* Exerience working with children, ideally in a school setting
* Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is highly desirable
* A calm, patient and consistent approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
* Someone reliable, committed and ready to start quickly
