Job Description
The Junior Sustainability Product Developer supports the development of sustainable products by assisting with data management, factory communication, and sustainability-focused product initiatives. This role works cross‑functionally with design, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to ensure accurate product data, responsible sourcing, and alignment with sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse and process the collection, input, and maintenance of product data within the PLM system.
* Ensure accuracy and completeness of materials, components and sustainability attributes.
* Assist with tracking product changes, approvals, and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
* Support reporting and data analysis related to sustainability metrics.
Factory Liaison
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure materials, development timelines, and sustainability requirements are met.
* Coordinate sample development and resolve basic production or data‑related issues.
* Assist with gathering factory information such as certifications, compliance documents, and material data.
Sustainability Product Research and Development
* Confident researching and developing sustainable materials, trims, and processes.
* Suggest and support the integration of sustainability criteria utilisés into product development decisions where commercially viable.
* Help evaluate environmental impacts (e.g., materials, processes, packaging).
* Stay informed on sustainability trends, certifications, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
* An understanding of industry based and commercial sustainability.
* Bachelor’s degree in a product related field i.e. Fashion Design, Product Design etc.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Familiarity with product development processes and sustainability principles.
* Basic understanding of PLM systems or willingness to learn.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional and external partners.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data management tools.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

* Exposure to sustainable materials, certifications (e.g., BCI, FSC, Bluesign), or life‑cycle thinking.
