Hours: 07:30 - 17:30 (Approx. 45 hours per week)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35 (PAYE or Umbrella only)
The Role:
We are currently recruiting an experienced Competent Person / Civil Operative to support works on a live substation project at National Grid Pembroke Substation.
This is a key role within the site team, responsible for ensuring safe access and operational control within a live HV substation environment, working in line with National Grid safety rules and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Competent Person in accordance with National Grid NSI 6 & 8 Safety Rules
Manage safe access and egress of personnel, plant and delivery vehicles within the substation
Ensure all works are carried out in line with HSG47 (Avoiding Danger from Underground Services)
Support civil works on site in line with ground worker responsibilities
Maintain strict compliance with site safety procedures, permits and authorisations
Liaise with site management and project teams to coordinate safe operations
Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental standardsEssential Requirements:
National Grid Competent Person Authorisation (NSI 6 & 8 - Full Authorisation)
HSG47 (Cat 1+2)
Strong experience working within live HV substation environments
Manual Handling certification
Full PPE required prior to site attendancePlease note: Only candidates with the required National Grid authorisations and competencies will be considered.
