Join us in this fulfilling role, where every day brings new joys and challenges, and be a part of our mission to deliver safe, supported and compassionate care.</p><h3>Main duties of the job</h3><ul><li>Assess and advise on the needs of women, birthing people, partners, families and carers, providing emotional support throughout pregnancy and postnatal care.</li><li>Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence‑based midwifery care.</li><li>Support women and birthing people in both the midwifery led unit and home environments.</li><li>Recognise deterioration in the physical or mental condition of a patient, taking appropriate action or escalating and managing emergencies.</li><li>Assist community midwives with day‑to‑day activities during times of high acuity.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Registered midwife with valid NMC registration.</li><li>Have completed an approved mentorship course.</li><li>Professional Midwifery Advocate.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Band 6 midwife with at least 1 year of experience providing intrapartum care.</li><li>Experience providing intrapartum care in the home.</li></ul><h3>Statutory Registration</h3><ul><li>Must be a NMC registrant.</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and requires a submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous convictions.</p><h3>EEO Statement</h3><p>We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as BAME and disabled people are currently under‑represented.</p><h3>Location and Salary</h3><p>Location: County Durham and Darlington area.
