SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH Focus

We are working with a specialist SEN school in Dover that is looking to appoint a committed and confident SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils who need consistency, structure, and strong role models.
The Role:
You will be supporting students with SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom. This will involve building strong, trusting relationships, helping to regulate behaviour, and supporting pupils to engage in learning and develop socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
Support students in developing emotional regulation and coping strategies
Work closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to implement support plans
Create a safe, structured and positive learning environmentWhat We're Looking For:
A resilient, calm and confident individual who can handle challenging behaviour
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, or in similar settings (desirable but not essential)
A proactive, team-focused attitude with a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learnersWhy This Role?
