Pin Point Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Transport Logistics Planner to join a growing and dynamic operations team in Earls Colne. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient scheduling and coordination of a fleet of vehicles to meet customer service level agreements across commercial and utility sectors.
Transport Logistics Planner Shifts:
Day Shift: 08:00 – 18:00
Mid Shift: 12:00 – 22:00
Night Shift: 20:00 – 08:00
(Some flexibility for remote working)

Transport Planner Job Role:
Plan and allocate vehicle and driver resources to support efficient and time-critical service delivery.
Manage day-to-day scheduling of operations and field technicians.
Act as a key point of contact for emergency response requests during Out of Hours periods.
Respond to internal and external queries with professionalism and accuracy.
Generate work instructions for field technicians including equipment, site access and special requirements.
Liaise effectively with Drivers, Operational Teams, and Clients.
Field and manage commercial service delivery enquiries from the Sales team.
Ensure compliance with all regulations including Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive.
Coordinate with the fleet team to manage vehicle maintenance scheduling, MOTs, servicing and defect reporting.
Process ad-hoc tasks such as booking accommodation, arranging travel, and managing service-related admin.
Assist in the preparation of costing reports and ensure all services are recorded and cost-effective.
Manage courier and bottled water doorstep delivery logistics (planned and reactive).
Maintain accurate communication records and handle customer complaints professionally.
Transport Planner Skills Requirements
Minimum 2 years’ experience in HGV Transport Logistics (required)
Proven knowledge of Drivers Hours legislation and Working Time Directive
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise across departments and levels
High attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ability to multitask, prioritise and work well under pressure
Willingness to work rotational shifts including nights and weekends
Incident management or water utility logistics experience is advantageous, but not essential
