Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of a busy business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintaining and updating financial records, including ledgers and journals
* Processing invoices, payments, and expense claims
* Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Performing regular bank reconciliations
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Assisting with payroll processing (if required)
* Supporting month-end and year-end financial reporting
* Liaising with external accountants and auditors
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
* Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
* Experience using accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications (Desirable)
* AAT qualification or equivalent (or working towards)
* Relevant finance or accounting certification
