Job Description

* £46,670 - £57,025 per annum (pro rata if part time)

Are you ready to lead and inspire? Join our West Senior Management Team as an Area Business Manager and make a meaningful impact in your local community.
What you will do
* Provide strategic leadership in budget setting, monitoring, and performance reporting.
* Advise and support the Area Director and senior leadership team on financial and operational matters.
* Lead and supervise Business and Finance staff across multiple locations.
* Ensure efficient and effective business performance processes.
* Act as the first point of contact for financial and business performance issues.
* Deliver training and guidance to budget holders.
* Liaise with Suffolk County Council (SCC) corporate finance to manage budget changes.
* Conduct financial and business performance analysis to support decision-making.
* Ensure compliance with SCC financial procedures and performance standards.
* Collaborate with providers and contract teams to monitor service quality and cost-effectiveness.
* Promote the Council's vision, values, and priorities across teams and partnerships.
Your responsibilities
* Produce monthly reports with strategic analysis and recommendations.
* Track and influence performance trajectories within agreed timescales.
* Oversee financial administration, including payments, forecasting, and Oracle data integrity.
* Provide advanced financial direction to the area management team.
* Support delivery of key business indicators and transformation programmes.
* Manage and develop Business and Finance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Identify and implement process improvements across the area and county.
* Maintain robust financial monitoring and ensure cost savings are reflected in budgets.
* Act as an escalation point for internal and external finance-related matters.
* Ensure delivery of savings plans and compliance with governance frameworks.
About the team
You'll be part of the Adult Social Care (ASC) leadership team, supporting the Area Director. Localities are aligned with place-based alliances and work closely with health partners on integration initiatives. You'll collaborate with social work, occupational therapy, reablement, mental health, learning disability, commissioning, and contracting teams-managing a gross budget of £35-£95 million.
