Employment Advisor
The Growth Company’s (GC) Employment team is excited to announce a new opportunity for an Employment Advisor to support on our United for Refugees contract. In this role, you will have a large focus on helping participants move into sustainable employment. You will provide guidance and training services to support economically inactive individuals on their journey towards employment, training, and education. You will contribute to a government initiative offering personalised support, helping people secure jobs in their local area and overcome employment barriers.
This role has a starting salary of £27,500 per annum which will increase to £29,000 per annum following successful completion of probationary period.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and deliver advice, guidance, and training interventions for economically inactive individuals.
2. Establish and deliver both one-on-one and group activities, including initial assessments, inductions, job search sessions, and follow-up appointments.
3. Identify and address individual learning needs through personalised interventions.
4. Refer customers to internal and external agencies to facilitate their progress.
5. Plan training and other interventions tailored to each customer’s needs.
6. Assist customers in deciding on options to meet their needs and provide ongoing support.
7. Report any concerns related to the safeguarding of individuals.
About You:
8. Proven track record of working with vulnerable customer groups.
9. Demonstrated ability to meet targets with a strong understanding of the local labour market, recruitment methods, and growth industries.
10. In-depth knowledge of welfare-to-work programmes and the customer base.
11. Familiarity with guidance and national standards.
12. Excellent rapport-building skills, professional demeanour, and good communication skills.
Skills Required:
13. Must be proficient in one or more of the following languages: Amharic, Arabic, Dari, Urdu, Tigrinya, Somali, Farsi, Punjabi, Oromo, Swahili, Pashto.
14. Support Work experience with socially excluded or vulnerable people would be beneficial.
15. Proven ability to thrive under pressure in high-performance environments.
16. Previous work with vulnerable people/families.
17. Well-developed IT skills, including management information (MI) systems, spreadsheets, diary management, email, and data security.
18. Consistently meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and challenging targets.
19. Strong ability to network and effectively promote the organisation.
