Job Summary:
Based in the Legal & Compliance department, the role focuses on coordinating with external advisors on legal, regulatory compliance, and related matters for UK bank operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide guidance on routine legal and compliance matters to the business.
2. Draft, review, and update compliance policies, procedures, and controls, addressing related inquiries.
3. Maintain the Regulatory Correspondence Register and supporting documentation.
4. Respond accurately and promptly to courts, police, DWP, liquidators, HMRC, regulators, and other enforcement agencies.
5. Conduct horizon scanning and map regulations across bank functions.
6. Review legal court orders and information requests monthly for the Legal & Compliance Committee.
7. Deliver regulatory updates to Compliance, Business, and Operations teams.
8. Advise on legal issues stemming from UK operations.
9. Annually review the Legal and Conveyancing Panel, maintaining regular communication for external legal services, opinions, and litigation.
10. Handle ad hoc legal matters as needed.
11. Approve financial promotions.
12. Oversee and monitor legal and compliance activities.
13. Compile reports for senior management.
14. Review outputs from third-party vendor systems.
