Job Title: Communications & Engagement Executive (2 Year FTC) Description: We are hiring for our client - a key player in Northern Ireland's utilities sector - who are seeking a Communications & Engagement Executive to join their Corporate Affairs team in Belfast on a 2-year fixed-term contract. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to one of the most important infrastructure transformation programmes in the region. This hybrid role will involve supporting the planning and delivery of comprehensive engagement strategies across community, stakeholder, and media channels - helping the organisation deliver major projects that support the future of energy in Northern Ireland. Top 3 Things to Know About this Job: Belfast-based with hybrid flexibility (3 days office / 2 days home) 2-Year Fixed-Term Contract with competitive salary & benefits Play a vital role in infrastructure investment The Role: As Communications & Engagement Executive, you will work closely with the Senior Communications Lead and Head of Corporate Affairs to: Support the development and execution of communications and engagement strategies for grid infrastructure projects. Liaise with local communities, councils, and key stakeholders on project developments. Assist in community consultation, public engagement events, and reporting. Deliver digital content, social media campaigns, and manage website updates. Coordinate with external partners, consultants, and media outlets. Contribute to wider corporate communications and issues management as needed. Work flexibly, including occasional evenings/weekends for events or urgent communications. The Person: You'll thrive in this role if you bring: A passion for community engagement and infrastructure communications. At least 1 year's experience in a similar role or 3 years' experience without a relevant qualification. A third-level qualification in communications, journalism, politics, or planning (desirable but not essential). Strong content development, planning, and event coordination skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. A full clean driving licence. A basic understanding of the energy/infrastructure landscape is advantageous. Desirable: Previous experience working with communities or public sector stakeholders. Understanding of local government and planning systems.
