Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organised Technical Specialist to oversee and coordinate all projects. You will act as the central point of contact between the client and internal teams, ensuring that every project moves smoothly from concept to delivery. This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and exceeding customer expectations.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Specification Review & Management
* Review, assess, and approve incoming product specifications from suppliers, customers, or internal teams.
* Ensure specifications align with company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
* Maintain and update specification databases/document control systems.
* Highlight discrepancies or risks in specifications and coordinate resolutions with stakeholders.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
* Verify that product specifications meet relevant industry standards, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
* Support audits (internal, customer, and regulatory) by providing technical documentation and evidence of compliance.
* Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) when specification or quality issues arise.
Cross-Functional Support
* Collaborate with R&D, Production, Procurement, and Quality teams to ensure smooth integration of new or updated specifications.
* Provide technical input during supplier qualification and new product introduction.
* Act as a subject matter expert for technical queries relating to specifications.
Continuous Improvement
* Identify opportunities to streamline specification review processes.
* Recommend updates to procedures, work instructions, and quality systems for better efficiency and accuracy.
* Monitor and report on specification-related KPIs (accuracy, turnaround time, compliance rates).
Documentation & Reporting
* Prepare technical reports and summaries of specification assessments.
* Ensure clear traceability and version control of all technical documents.
* Support training of staff in understanding and interpreting specifications.
Required Essential Skills and Qualification
· Attention to Detail – Ability to carefully review technical specifications, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
· Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Capability to assess specifications, highlight risks, and coordinate corrective actions when issues arise.
· Communication & Collaboration – Strong verbal and written skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers, and to prepare clear technical reports.
· Computer Literacy & Technical Proficiency – Comfortable using document control systems, databases, spreadsheets, and other software for specification management and reporting.
· Organizational & Time Management Skills – Efficient in handling multiple specifications, maintaining version control, and meeting deadlines consistently.
