We are recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist Anxiety Hub, supporting secondary school learners aged 11–16 with anxiety, mental health needs, and SEMH.
This is a long-term Teaching Assistant role starting January 2026, ideal for candidates seeking SEND, SEMH, mental health, or alternative provision experience. Learners do not access mainstream classrooms — all lessons are delivered within the Anxiety Hub in a calm, therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities – Teaching Assistant (Secondary / SEMH)
* Support learners with anxiety, mental health needs, and emotional regulation.
* Assist with teaching and learning up to GCSE level (English, Maths and wider curriculum).
* Deliver small-group and 1:1 support within an alternative provision setting.
* Work alongside a qualified Teacher and experienced Teaching Assistants.
* Promote wellbeing, confidence, engagement and emotional resilience.
* Provide consistent, trauma-informed and nurturing support.
Person Specification – Ideal Teaching Assistant
* Kind, caring, patient and emotionally resilient.
* Experience working with SEMH, anxiety, mental health, SEND or alternative provision.
* Confident supporting learners aged 11–16 and GCSE-level work.
* Holds a degree, relevant qualification, or significant transferable experience.
* Passionate about mental health, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
