We are seeking to recruit an experienced general or mental health nurse to work as part of a brand new, eating disorder physical health monitoring, outpatient clinic.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced general or mental health nurse to work as part of a brand new, eating disorder physical health monitoring, outpatient clinic.
You will be involved right from the beginning of this exciting, newly commissioned service, being able to influence and develop the offering, alongside the team manager and other colleagues.
You will work face to face with people who use our services on a daily basis. Ensuring that they receive outstanding, safe care. Providing assessment, monitoring and advice.
You will work within the eating disorder pathway and have the opportunity to work with colleagues in other services to ensure continuity of care.
As a senior member of staff, you will be able to work as a leader, providing support to junior staff, students and others. Offering excellent clinical leadership skills.
Working as part of a small service, you will get to work in a multidisciplinary team alongside other clinical staff including nursing and support staff and a general practitioner.

Main duties of the job
Clinical Care:
* Conduct comprehensive physical health assessments.
* Develop and implement individualised care plans where required.
* Monitor and manage complications related to eating disorders.
* Provide patient education on nutrition and health.
* Provide signposting where required.
Patient Monitoring:
Regularly monitor physical health indicators, including weight and BMI.
* Conduct routine blood tests and diagnostic procedures as necessary.
* Identify and respond to signs of physical deterioration.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
* Work with colleagues within the team and across Livewell to ensure the highest standards of care. You will also need to collaborate and work alongside other Livewell services, primary care and VCSE.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
Line Management:
* Supervise and support junior staff, including healthcare assistants.
* Assist in training and development of staff.
* Conduct appraisals and line management, in line with Livewell policy.
Leadership And Professional Development:
* Act as a role model and leader within the clinical team.
* Stay updated with the latest research and developments.
* Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Job responsibilities
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
5.1 Responsibility for People Management
The post holder would be responsible for directly supervising the specialist nursing assistant within the ED PHC clinic. This would include supporting these staff members through appropriate line management policies.
The post holder would also be responsible for mentoring BSC Hons nursing students as per their NMC pin.
The post holder would also have responsibilities to support in teaching and training staff from other disciplines this would include turbo teach sessions, contribution to the regular face to face teaching sessions as well as the teaching of practical skills such as how to undertake a middle upper arm circumference level (MUAC).
5.2 Responsibility for financial and/or physical resources
The post holder is responsible for supporting the manager with ordering equipment required for the ED PHC clinic.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring that this equipment is in working order, in date and is regulated appropriately by appropriate services. They are also responsible for the ongoing security and auditing of this equipment, including daily reporting.
5.3 Responsibility for administration
The post holder is responsible for documenting all clinical contact in a timely manner.
The post holder will be required to ensure accurate data is completed around dates of referrals, assessments etc.
The post holder will also be required to create letters that are sent to differing health professionals including GPs following assessments.
5.4 Responsibility For People Who Use Our Services
Clinical contact with patients will be provided within various roles and will include the following (although not exclusively to): to oversee the ED PHC clinic as well as to be responsible for completing the medical monitoring of patients who use this service. This includes undertaking: height, weight, MUAC, a full set of clinical observations, a full set of bloods, as well as an ECG. The post holder will also be required to complete an assessment of the patients physical presentation during these appointments. The post holder will be required to monitor progress and assess risk during these appointments and ultimately use these appointments to assess need, and contribute to the care planning and treatment for the patient. The appointments are hoped to provide support and psychoeducation which the post holder will be responsible for providing. The post holder will be required to respond efficiently and appropriately should the patient require immediate medical intervention.
The successful applicant would also be expected to develop support for patients who are cared for within the ED care pathway and their carers. This may be via literature, including psychoeducation and signposting material.
As per the community mental health framework (CMHF) the eating disorder care pathway would like to recruit peer support workers in the near future and the specialist post holder would be responsible for the overseeing, support and supervision of this pathway.
5.5 Responsibility for implementation of policy and/or service developments
The post holder will support the team manager in developing policy for the ED PHC and any other policies required. The post holder will be expected to represent the ED care pathway during these developments which may include attending meetings with differing trusts.
5.6 Other Responsibilities
The post holder will be expected to contribute to data collection in terms of service development specifically within the ED PHC clinic.
The post holder will be expected to work in the ethos of the triangle of care including families and carers where appropriate.
The successful candidate will be required to ensure that their registration is maintained as per specific qualification requirements.
The candidate will also need to ensure ongoing continual professional development, both through attendance of mandatory and non-mandatory training.
