We are recruiting a Chief Accountant at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday - Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent/Full Time
Location: Ty Penallta
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Financial Services Team.
We pay an attractive salary of £60,330 - £66,160 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will manage and control the provisions of all centralised accountancy related services, including the delivery of revenue, capital and corporate accounting support, treasury management, and insurance and risk management.
You will analyze financial information and identify improvements where appropriate for Senior Managers, budget holders, and Elected Members, including financial performance and budget monitoring, benchmarking, performance management, tendering arrangements, grants, funding initiatives, and partnership working arrangements.
The postholder will be responsible for accounts payable and taxation advice, ensuring these are provided efficiently and effectively, in accordance with the Council's policies and statutory and legislative requirements.
For the role, we ask that you have:
* A qualified CCAB Accountant.
* Membership of CIPFA or other relevant body.
* Knowledge of financial legislation and regulations affecting the Authority, with the ability to incorporate this knowledge into policy documents.
* Experience managing at a fifth tier level or above in a large organization.
