Responsibilities
* You will be the primary point of contact for HR-related matters in Scotland
* You will provide an efficient, effective and customer-focused HR service which supports all aspects of an employee’s relationship and engagement with the business including employee relations, performance management and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and the groupwide HR policies
* As well as supporting the onboarding process for new hires and managing the induction process you will collaborate with the central HR team on HR initiatives and projects across the group
* You will build effective working relationships with employees at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR-related issues to support understanding and ensure communication of good
* You will effectively monitor sickness and performance trends and remedial action in accordance with our policies and facilitate a proactive approach to absence and performance management
* Attend formal meetings as required, supporting investigations and prepare for meetings/hearings which are of a sensitive and confidential nature
* You will take part in the promotion of our core values across the Dains group, monitoring employee health and well-being and delivering improvements through appropriate and considered employee benefits
Skills and Qualifications
* Part or full CIPD qualification is desirable
* You will need to have recent experience as an HR generalist with a good understanding of employment legislation along with direct experience in advising on performance, disciplinary, grievance, absence management and general employee relations issues
Attributes
* You will need to have the ability to advise and work with senior employees up to and including the managing partner
* You will have a tenacious and conscientious work ethic with strong planning and time management techniques
* You will be personable with strong communication and relationship-building capabilities across all levels
* Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities
* You will need to have a full driving licence and access to a car
