The Opportunity
A well-established regional building contractor based in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team. You will play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple projects, typically valued up to £5 million .
Role Overview
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for running 3-4 projects simultaneously, ensuring budgets, costs, and commercial matters are effectively managed. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage budgets, cost control, and financial reporting across multiple projects
Prepare valuations, interim applications, and final accounts
Administer contracts and manage variations
Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on commercial matters
Identify and mitigate risks, and provide cost-saving solutions
Support project teams with commercial advice and reporting
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the building or construction sector
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, up to £5 million in value
Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills
Relevant QS qualification (RICS or equivalent) preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
