About the Role
Role Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiasticfull-time Optical Assistant to join our small, friendly team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with people and is confident in both technical and customer-facing tasks. Experience in
optics is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
As part of a small independent team, you will be involved in all aspects of practice life. These are among some of the jobs that will be expected to be carried out:
Welcoming patients and providing exceptional front-of-house service
Dispensing glasses accurately and confidently
Adjusting and fitting frames to ensure comfort and proper alignment
Performing and managingall frame repairs, including minor and more advanced fixes
Managingcollections and providing aftercare support for patients
Handling and advising oncontact lenses, including orders, deliveries, and queries
Conducting pre-screening tests (full training provided if necessary)
Managing patient records and appointment diary using ourpractice management system (PMS)
Handling telephone and email enquiries in a professional and efficient manner
Ensuring the practice is clean, well-presented, and welcoming
