The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust - Department of Clinical Radiology Health Care Support Worker Band 3 x1 Post 28 hours per week (Permanent). An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Support Worker to work within the Department of Clinical Radiology. Applications are invited from individuals who have experience of working within a health care environment.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be required to support the Radiology Nursing team in providing high standards of care to patients who attend for examinations within CT, CT scanner at the Community diagnostic centre, Ultrasound and Breast screening as well as the inpatient Bed Wait facility. The post includes supporting patients, chaperoning and undertaking procedures relevant to the role. The post holder will be expected to undertake duties of intravenous cannulation for which training will be provided. You must be able to communicate well with patients, members of the public as well as all members of staff within the multi-disciplinary team.
Applicants must have NVQ Level 3 in Health or Social Care or equivalent. A pleasant and caring manner and the ability to work as part of a team is essential to the role. The post will include weekend work on a rotational basis, extended working days and Bank Holidays.

Job responsibilities and person specification

* NVQ level 3 in care or have equivalent care qualifications
* To have undertaken and be competent at Intravenous cannulation
* To have experience of caring for patients undergoing clinical procedures
* Must be prepared to attend relevant courses / study as required for the post
* Experience in dealing with the General Public
* To have previous experience of working in a health care role
* Within the relevant area
