SENDCo – Mainstream Secondary School
Location: Swanage, Dorset
Full-time | After Easter – July (One Term)
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Swanage to appoint an experienced and committed SENDCo for a full-time, one-term position starting after Easter and running until the end of the academic year in July.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated SEND professional to make a meaningful impact within a supportive school community that places inclusion and pupil wellbeing at the heart of everything it does.
The role:
As SENDCo, you will play a key role in leading and coordinating provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities across the school. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, support teams, parents and external agencies to ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and managing SEND provision across the school
* Overseeing EHCPs and individual support plans
* Supporting staff with high-quality inclusive practice
* Liaising with parents, carers and external professionals
* Monitoring progress and ensuring statutory requirements are met
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold the National Award for SEND Coordination (or be working towards it)
* Have previous experience as a SENDCo, ideally within a secondary setting
* Be confident managing EHCPs and working with external agencies
* Be passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners
