Required skills, qualifications and experience Production Support, Production Engineering, Product Support experience gained from within a Manufacturing or Engineering environment. An independent thinker, able to take an assertive stance when dealing with peers within the IPT. Demonstrate experience in an engineering function in support of a manufacturing process industry experience; which may include mechanical assembly, machining, fabrication, welding, casting, plastic molding and robotics. (Note that this role is supporting Mechanical Assembly and Functional Testing) Basic understanding of the fundamentals of MRP and experience in the maintenance of Manufacturing BOM's and routings and controlling factors within SAP (or similar ERP software). Experience of preparing operational documentation and manufacturing data-packs. Problem solving experience (8D, A3, Root Cause Analysis etc.) Strong analytical skills. About the Role As part of the Operations Engineering Team, the Production Engineer is the recognised point of contact for resolving issues as they arise in the production environment. This role will fit within the Production Integrated Project Team (IPT) with the aim to improve yield and cycle time while meeting delivery milestones, which will directly impact our customers. The Production Engineer will: Drive a proactive approach to right first-time quality. Will enhance the reputation of the business through exceptional quality standards. Contribute towards a reduction in overall manufacturing costs. Main Responsibilities are: Ensuring the production line is running smoothly and resolving day-2-day issues, identifying any issues within the production processes and apply continuous improvement techniques to drive sustained corrective action implementation. Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability. Develop process improvements to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize productivity by performing engineering analysis to reduce downtime, waiting time and outages. Support Manufacturing Engineers in updating and maintaining detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures. Flow down and training of manufacturing personnel in new or revised processes. Input into defining and maintaining sequence of operations, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling taking into account flow and lean philosophies. Maintain knowledge and technical expertise of current production best practices tools and techniques and implement them in a reasonable and responsible manner. Support the development and implementation of production processes for new products, product enhancements and product changes. Install related fixtures and tooling, as required. Support process engineering change notice (ECN) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities, as required. Active involvement in the Level 1 MDWT (Mission Directed Work Team) meetings. Support with the business process reviews and generation / update of relevant documentation. Support Quality Assurance in Product Sell Off reviews with the customer.
