Prospero Teaching are looking to appoint a patient, creative, and experienced Tutor to work with a 9-year-old learner in Fordingbridge who has recently been permanently excluded (PEX) from school. This young person has an EHCP and a diagnosis of ADHD, and requires a tailored, engaging approach to learning. About the Learner: Age: 9 years Needs: ADHD diagnosis, EHCP, recently PEX Challenges: Meeting new people, managing multiple tasks, writing Strengths & Interests: Pokémon, cooking videos, dogs, practical tasks As a Tutor, you will: Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions focused on practical, interest-led learning Build a trusting relationship through consistency and empathy Adapt tasks to reduce overwhelm and support emotional regulation Encourage engagement through hands-on activities and creative approaches Support development in core subjects, especially through non-written formats About you: - You're calm under pressure - Great communicator - Committed to helping young people rebuild confidence, develop life skills, and re-engage with education - Background in 1:1 support, Teaching Assistant, Teacher or Cover Supervisor roles - Confident to plan at the primary school curriculum level Position - Tutor Contract or position start date - September Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A Full time/part-time - Opportunities for both Hours - 12 hours per week Essential & Desirable Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young peopleTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must: Hold right to work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide references upon request Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
