Approved Electrician – Greater London
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum. Benefits include a private-use van, bonus, overtime, and additional benefits. Travel to central London is facilitated with a travel card; regional work is provided to minimise travel.
Leading Building Services Consultancy is actively looking to expand its key accounts team and requires an Approved Electrician to join the business. The role involves performing Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM), reactive works, and installation work on new contracts that have recently commenced in the Greater London area. Most sites will be offices, high-end properties (not domestic) and large commercial buildings mainly located in the Greater London area. Staff will also need to be able to work in central London, but regional work is provided to minimise travel.
Typical Duties
* Carry out PPM work for site compliance, including PPM of emergency lighting, fault finding, wiring fixes, and fuse board maintenance.
* Carry out minor installations where needed.
* Test systems and certify all works in line with industry guidelines.
* Maintain site logbooks as the primary point of contact to the client, highlighting future work requirements to head office.
* Liaise with clients on work required outside office hours.
* Execute planned overtime and evening work where required, typically when a site is empty for testing.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 4 years of post‑qualification experience carrying out PPM and reactive/install work (commercial, domestic or construction background).
* Hold the following qualifications: 2391 (or 2394/5), AM2 and 18th Edition.
* Experience in testing and signing off electrical installations in accordance with the NIC/EIC guidelines.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel when needed.
