Theatre Scrub Practitioner *Internal Applicants*
Band 6 Theatre Scrub Practitioner – 37.5 hours per week. Internal only. Closing date: 13 May 2026.
Location
West Cumberland Hospital, with the opportunity to work across both Carlisle and Whitehaven sites.
Main duties of the job
Provide excellent intra‑operative care in accordance with NCIC values and policies. Lead the scrub team, assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care programmes in partnership with patients and the multidisciplinary team. Coordinate day‑to‑day running of the department, deliver non‑clinical support related to absence management, compliance rates and staff rostering, and deputise for the Theatre Clinical Lead in their absence.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse with perioperative nursing competency and active NMC registration, or Registered ODP with relevant registration.
* Mentorship and Assessors certificate.
* Leadership qualification (ILM Level 3, Leadership 1–3 training programmes) or equivalent.
* Intermediate Life Support training.
