SEND Teacher

Holme Court School, Cambridge

Location: Cherry Hinton Hall, Cherry Hinton Rd, Cambridge CB1 8DW

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Holme Court School is seeking a dedicated, skilled and compassionate SEND Teacher to join our specialist team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and reflective practitioner to play a central role in delivering high‑quality teaching, personalised learning and the day‑to‑day academic life of our nurturing school community.

Holme Court is a small, warm and inclusive setting for pupils aged 7–16 with specific learning difficulties including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, SLCN, SEMH, ASC, ASD and ADHD. We pride ourselves on our personalised curriculum, specialist teaching and strong relationships, ensuring every child is understood, respected and supported to achieve their full potential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable SEND Teacher with a strong understanding of neurodiverse learners and a passion for creating engaging, accessible and meaningful learning experiences. You will work closely with colleagues, therapists and the wider team to plan, deliver and evaluate high‑quality teaching that supports pupil progress across the school.

We are looking for teachers who can;

  • Under the direction of the Head, carry out the professional duties of a school teacher as set out in the current School policies.
  • Uphold the professional code of the school
  • Teach in accordance with the ethos, organisation and policies of the school as a fully committed member of the teaching team and as detailed in the specific duties and core standards.
  • Provide a high-quality education service for our students in accordance with policies, procedures and practices and the standards set.

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a generalised curriculum with an emphasis on the development of life skills including self-help, communication and self-regulation. All work will be adapted and personalised in accordance with student`s individual EHC plans.

We are looking to appoint teachers who can demonstrate the following;

  • To have an awareness of Autism or to have a willingness to learn about Autism and other learning needs, and to consistently apply this to teaching and learning.
  • Experience in teaching pupils with ASC and a range of comorbid conditions in either a mainstream or special school setting.
  • To hold a nationally recognised qualification in understanding/ supporting learners with ASC and SEMH and/or be willing to undertake additional training /qualifications as required.
  • To plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups, in accordance with the students' individual EHCPs, the School’s Curriculum framework and related policies.
  • To plan, adapt and personalise a multi-sensory curriculum for pupils.
  • To monitor, record and report on student progress.
  • To contribute to and help implement developments that relate to the School Development Plan.
  • To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational and moral development of the students.
  • To contribute to the development and implementation of an environment and programme of learning for the individual student to ensure progression at an appropriate and satisfactory rate.
