Tax Assistant / Tax Trainee
Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 (depending on experience)

About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Assistant / Tax Trainee to join a growing tax team for an Accountancy Practice in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some prior experience in a tax or accountancy role who is looking to further develop their career in taxation.
A great opportunity for candidates working towards professional qualifications such as ATT or CTA with study support available.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of personal tax returns (Self Assessment) for a varied client portfolio
* Assisting with corporation tax computations and returns
* Supporting senior team members with tax compliance across multiple tax areas
* Liaising with HMRC on routine queries and correspondence
* Maintaining accurate client records and working papers
* Assisting with basic tax planning work as experience develops
* Meeting deadlines while ensuring compliance with internal procedures and professional standards
* Delivering a professional and responsive service to clients
Experience Required:
* Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
* Good organisational and time management skills
* Confident using IT systems, including Microsoft Excel and Word
* Clear written and verbal communication skills
* A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
* Accountancy practice experience/ studying towards ATT or CTA

* Hybrid working: up to 2 days from home (post-probation)
* Flexible working hours (7-hour day between 8am – 6pm, with core hours 10am – 4pm)
