East Trees is a well-established Teaching andTraining practice, providing care to a patient list size of 15,500. We have 4GP Partners operating from modern, purpose-built premises which are partnershipowned. There are 7salaried GPs and a committed teamof 40 clinical and non-clinical staff.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Practice Manager to manage the operational aspects and work with the partners on the strategic, business and finance management. This diverse role is responsible for the smooth day-to-day running, staff management, overseeing HR functions, compliance and ensuring the practice meets its contractual obligations.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organisation skills, be teamfocussed, compassionate and will foster excellent team-working. They will shareour values and have an inclusiveapproach, coaching and developing the team, whilst also supporting patient care.
Due to the varied nature of the role, we arelooking for someone who has a hands-on approach and is confident in dealingwith both operational and strategic issues. We are ideally looking for someonewho can demonstrate high level IT skills with the increase in digitalinitiatives in general practice.
A DeputyPractice Manager, Operations Manager and a Reception Manager support this role.
Ideally we would prefer full-time, however part-time for a minimum 30 hours per week over 4-5 days will be considered.

Job responsibilities
Oversee the management of the day-to-day operations of the practice,ensuring that staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
Oversee the HR processes, including recruitment, relevant checks,contractual issues, appraisals and staff performance.
Workforce planning to ensure a good skill mix with staff having theappropriate level of training to enable them to carry out their individualroles and responsibilities effectively.
Ensure employment law and legislation is adhered to.
Liaise with the Primary Care Network (PCN) and locality commissioners,attend meetings and promote collaborative working.
Provide support and advice to the partnership and keep them updated onpractice matters.
Keep up to date with developments and changes within primary care.
Liaise with the DeputyPractice Manager and oversee payroll and pensions, ensuring accurate reportingand submissions.
Work closely with the Partnerson financial planning, budget setting and forecasting.
Ensure the practice explores all opportunities to maximise income andreduce expenditure.
Ensure Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and commissioned servicetargets are met.
Oversee the significant event and complaints processes, in line withcurrent legislation and guidance.
Manage contracts and maintenance for services and equipment.
Oversee the review and update of all practice policies and procedures.
Lead and coordinate projects within the practice.
Oversee the management of the practice IT system, including compliancewith the Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT).
Coordinate the practice development plan and business continuity plan.
Deal with the preparation of business cases for new services and provideproject management, as required.
Ensure on-going CQC compliance.
Ensure the practice maintains compliance with its NHSE contractualobligations.
Provide advice and support to the staff and the partnership to ensureeffective team working.
Manage effective communication, both internal and external and ensurethe website and other communication platforms are accurate and up to date.
Facilitate partners and practice meetings and maintain anup-to-date action plan.
Support the management of the Patient Participation Group.
Manage estates and facilities, including health and safety aspects andrisk assessments

Qualifications
* Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to manage a small to medium sized business
* Educated to degree level in healthcare or business
Experience
* Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams
* Experience of HR processes, workforce planning and development
* Experience of performance management including appraisals, staff development and disciplinary procedures
* Experience of successfully developing and implementing projects
* Experience of accounting procedures and cash flow forecasting
