SEND Teacher (Maternity Cover) – Specialist SEND School Temporary role with potential to become permanent Inspire and support young people with complex SEND needs across 11–19! Leader Education are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist 11–19 school supporting pupils with a wide range of needs, from Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) to Autism. This position is covering maternity leave, providing the opportunity to make a significant impact while supporting continuity for pupils. This is a hands-on teaching role, where you will plan and deliver lessons that meet the individual academic, social, and life-skills needs of each pupil. You will work closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to learning and development. The role is temporary to start, with a strong opportunity to move into a permanent position for candidates who demonstrate commitment, skill, and impact. What You’ll Do Plan, deliver, and assess lessons for pupils aged 11–19 with complex SEND needs Tailor teaching to EHCP outcomes for pupils across PMLD, Autism, and other learning needs Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment Track pupil progress and adapt strategies to meet individual learning, social, and emotional goals Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure holistic development Who We’re Looking For Qualified teacher with experience in SEND, SEMH, or specialist education settings Knowledge of differentiated teaching, individualised planning, and EHCP implementation Patient, adaptable, and passionate about supporting young people with complex needs Confident working as part of a multi-disciplinary team What We Offer Maternity cover position with potential to become permanent Ongoing professional development and SEND-specific training Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement Full AWR compliance for fair pay and working conditions Safer Recruitment & DBS All candidates are required to complete Leader Education’s vetting process.
