What you will do
* Accurately prepare and dispense medications in accordance with the prescriptions and prison policies.
* Manage stock levels efficiently, ensuring all pharmaceuticals are stored correctly and monitored regularly.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals within the prison to deliver patient‑centred care and improve inmate health outcomes.
* Provide advice on medication administration and potential side effects to inmates and staff when required.
* Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
* Participate in audits and inspections to maintain the highest standards of pharmacy practice.
Requirements
* Must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and hold a relevant qualification in pharmacy.
* Prior experience in a prison setting is required, along with appropriate prison clearance.
* Strong communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.
* MUST already have current prison clearance.
* Accuracy checks: Contributing to the safe dispensing and supply of medications.
* Stock control: Ensuring efficient inventory management to prevent shortages and waste.
* Procurement: Managing the timely and cost‑effective acquisition of medications and supplies.
* In‑possession medication: Supporting the daily delivery and management of in‑possession medication for patients, ensuring continuity of care and compliance. Smartcard & SysOne Knowledge required.
