What We Are Looking For We are seeking highly skilled, professional, and ethically driven BSL/English Interpreters who are passionate about communication access and committed to excellence. Essential Qualifications & Registrations: NRCPD Registration: Must be a Registered Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) with the National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD). Approved Interpreting Qualification: Hold one of the NRCPD-approved interpreting qualifications (e.g., University of Wolverhampton MA Interpreting, UCLAN PGDip, Heriot-Watt MA, Signature Level 6 Diploma, IBSL Level 6 Diploma). PVG Scheme Membership: Current membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme, managed by Disclosure Scotland. Professional Indemnity Insurance: Hold valid professional indemnity insurance. Commitment to CPD: Demonstrated commitment to ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Key Skills & Attributes: Exceptional Language Proficiency: Native-level fluency in British Sign Language (BSL) and an excellent command of written and spoken English. Professionalism & Ethics: Strict adherence to professional codes of conduct, including impartiality, accuracy, and absolute confidentiality. Attention to Detail: Meticulous thoroughness and precision in interpreting. Adaptability: Ability to adapt interpreting style to suit diverse settings and individuals.
