Overview
Zanda is supporting an ecommerce scaleup based in North Yorkshire that's recently expanded operations, increased brand awareness and improved the consumers' operating platform. At the moment the business continues to build out its customer base ahead of embarking on the next phase of growth.
This cross-functional team now seeks their first, full-time finance leader hire; and a commercially aware Finance Director to join the business. Building an insightful and scalable finance function is high on the agenda, and this role will play a crucial part in providing the CEO and wider leadership team information to steer key business decisions.
Given the high volume of transactions, production of metrics to identify the most profitable product lines, product pricing, and wider financial planning and analysis all make up a key parts of the success of this role. The ideal candidate will seek to enjoy a broad, hands-on role, and the variety of working in a startup or scaleup business on a day to day basis to build the best commercial product offering possible.
Responsibilities
* Work with the CEO and executive team to help shape the financial strategy of the business.
* Establish more effective processes and controls across all areas of financial operations.
* Develop financial models that allow accurate insights into product profitability to support key decisions.
* Leading business budgeting and forecasting to support short, medium and long-term business and cashflow planning in collaboration with all key stakeholders.
* Business partner across functions including marketing and procurement.
* Enhance month-end reporting including managing the cashflow and working capital arrangements.
Qualifications
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA).
* Prior experience in a dynamic startup, scaleup or high growth SME.
* Previous experience in a similar Finance Director or Head of Finance role, establishing a finance function and driving commercial decision making.
* Proven experience to practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
* Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices.
* Extensive experience of budgeting, financial forecasting and broader FP&A.
* Experience working within the ecommerce, retail, product led sector is a bonus.
