The Role:
The postholder will form part of a skilled team of front line staff across Council Museum and Arts Facilities and Council events to ensure a positive visitor experience by providing information services, hospitality, cleaning and security as required to ensure high standards of customer satisfaction.
Responsible for:
1. Security and cleaning of Council Museum and Arts Facilities
2. Customer care and hospitality
3. Cash handling, taking bookings, dealing with enquiries and complaints
4. Assistance with events, tours, exhibitions, curatorial work, educational activities and promotional work
5. Maintenance of a safe environment and monitoring of systems and equipment
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL:
6. Grade C or above in at least 4 GCSEs or equivalent, one of which must be GCSE English Language or equivalent and one of which must be a GCSE in numerate subject or equivalent
AND
7. At least 1 year's relevant experience working directly with the public
OR
8. In lieu of qualifications at least 2 year's relevant experience working directly with the public
9. Experience within a creative or workshop environment working with children or adults
10. Experience of cleaning duties in a working environment eg public building, office complex
11. At least 3 months' previous experience of cash handling and keeping associated records in a work environment
12. Experience of room set up for events/functions
