Overview
We are looking for a reliable and motivated person to work with a 67-year-old male with mobility issues. The Personal Assistant's (PA) main role will be to provide support with medication management, domestic duties, and social duties, including driving to medical, health or hospital appointments and to enable participation in social activities. The client has difficulty hearing, uses a walking stick and is a heavy smoker, so the PA should be comfortable working in this environment. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, well-organised and must have experience with working with people with mobility issues.
Responsibilities
* Observe, monitor, and record clients\' physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to family members.
* Assist with medication management (taking medication and ensuring levels remain topped up, including collecting prescriptions).
* Domestic duties including laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping.
* Social duties including driving to medical, health or hospital appointments and enabling participation in social activities.
Desirable / Qualifications
* Social care qualification such as a Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Desirable).
* Manual handling and administration of medication.
* Previous experience working with older and/or physically disabled people is essential.
* Flexibility and time management - able to work flexibly during day, evening, and weekends/bank holidays.
* Fully vaccinated against coronavirus and flu (employer has a respiratory condition).
* NVQ 2 or higher in Adult Social Care would be beneficial.
* DBS is essential, or one can be provided.
* Need someone with a vehicle or someone with a driver\'s licence as client has his own vehicle.
* Candidates must be warm and friendly, with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for high quality care and support.

Hours
Hours of work: 5-10.5 hrs per week. Opportunity for overtime to cover other PAs whilst on holiday, etc. Entitled to pro rata legal minimum holiday. Working between 3-8 hrs per day. Monday to Sunday (This may be subject to change depending on need and requirements - may include evening support).
