Job Description:
You will work as a part of a project team engaged in a number of maintenance and improvement schemes in relation to highways structures. Work will be a mixture of design and inspection.
Working to DMRB guidelines you will assist in compiling design packages, preparing traffic management and temporary access arrangements to facilitate structural maintenance, carrying out risk assessments and producing technical drawings and specifications.
You will be working as a part of an integrated delivery team (consultancy / contractor) to develop schemes within defined budgetary requirements and in line with the requirements of your client, the Highways Agency.
Person Specification:
Applicants for this role will hold a relevant ONC / HNC / HND level qualification and will be able to demonstrate previous UK experience working on the design of bridge engineering schemes.
You will have a good level of knowledge in relation to bridge maintenance techniques and will have a good working knowledge of the DMRB alongside competency in AutoCAD design software.
Able to work well within a team environment you will have good communication skills and the ability to confidently deliver a busy workload.
Ideally you will have an awareness of the constraints when working on a highway and the ability to develop suitable temporary traffic management solutions.
