Self-Employed personal Assistant/Carer required (x2 positions available) – Peterborough PE7 area - PUR
About me:
Late 60s male with significant visual impairment – sight is deteriorating daily. Likes to be as independent as possible, in reality this can vary on a day to day basis. Need support to ensure standard of living can be maintained.
Hours and Rate of Pay:
8 hours per week.
Rate of Pay:
£21.00 per hour
Person Specification:
Assistance with practical aspects of daily living, particularly with regard to organisation and ensuring access is clear for safe living.
Be willing to prepare food & meals.
Should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator.
Possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.
Be hardworking, reliable, committed, honest and trustworthy. Have common sense and be able to use their initiative.
Flexible and a willingness to learn.
Clean full driving licence essential and access to own vehicle. (Ample notice given for external outings and mileage costs provided).
Ability to speak and understand English fluently is essential.
Be cheerful with a good sense of humour.
Must be comfortable being around a dog as a friendly, well-mannered retired guide dog lives within the property.
Role responsibilities:
Support with meal preparation and cooking.
Support with maintaining the domestic environment to the required standard.
Support with social outings and appointments (in and out of vehicle).
May be required to guide and support when out and about walking.
Establish a close working relationship on a 1-1 basis.
Undertake any duties which may be reasonably allocated and fall within the scope responsibility of the job.
Needs may vary on a daily basis therefore hours, duties and tasks may alter slightly.
