Fire Engineering is actively seeking a Design Engineer to design and produce fire sprinkler drawings and BIM models .
The primary responsibilities will be using AutoCAD/ Revit design software to create new and revised models/ plans and solutions for our customers. The successful candidate for this position will have a background in sprinkler design or related field, a desire to work with new technologies, and the ability to work well with others.
Responsibilities:
* Design and calculation of fire sprinkler systems.
* Coordinating designs with other building services
* Attending client design team meetings both on and off site.
* Supervise and train junior members of staff.
* Design verification and installation compliance checks
* Use of document management systems to control drawing flow.
* Providing advise to clients and answering general enquiries.
Essential:
* Previous experience of fire sprinkler design
* Knowledge of LPC Rules/ BS EN 12845 and BS9251
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Canute FHC and the Microsoft Office suite of products.
* Ability to read and effectively interpret architectural/engineering plans.
* Excellent communications skills and ability to work to/ adapt to changing deadlines.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
Desirable:
* Knowledge/ Experience of Revit and Navisworks
* LPCB Design Competency Exams
* Knowledge of NFPA/ FM codes
* Hold a UK Driving Licence
Whilst this post is advertised as full time 37.5hrs per week, we also welcome applicants from candiates wishing a reduced working week. We can offer a hybrid working pattern where the candiate can work between their home and our office.
