The Role: Director, Business Development – IQVIA Biotech

IQVIA is currently looking to appoint a driven and experienced BD professional to work specifically within Biotech, providing customized Phase I through IV services globally, and offering expertise across multiple therapeutic areas. The role is based anywhere in Europe.

This is a critical appointment as part of a company-wide initiative to increase the client portfolio through successful sales and business development, and to develop trusted relationships that enable IQVIA to sell across the enterprise over time. The role requires positioning end-to-end IQVIA solutions in discussions at a high level with clients and internal teams.

The EBP sales specialist will be responsible for selling the entire solution portfolio across Clinical, thereby fulfilling client needs across the product lifecycle. The candidate will engage credibly at C-Suite level with Biotech clients, coordinate internal teams, and build a robust account strategy to drive expansion across the IQVIA clinical solution portfolio. The role demands selling and closing larger value deals, with experience in leveraging organizational capabilities to upsell and shift the market toward the company’s integrated offerings.

The person

* Strong intellect and analytical acuity with the ability to define, conceptualise and sell the company’s integrated clinical solution portfolio.
* Demonstrated hunting skills to open new relationships and expand opportunities within the existing client base.
* Collaborative work style across the organization; sophisticated relationship-building internally and externally.
* Established network within relevant markets would be advantageous.
* Drive and resilience evidenced by a track record in R&D/Clinical and business development contributions in past roles.

Skills

* 10 years of related experience in a CRO, pharmaceutical or biotechnology environment.
* At least 10 years’ experience as a BD Director in a CRO environment.
* Understanding of the clinical process (PH I – IV).
* Solid understanding of commercialization and the principles of drug discovery and development.
* Has a detailed understanding of the Biotech marketplace.
