Where will you be working?
At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.
We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.
This role will be within our Electricity Transmission team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.
Location and Travel
With a main office in Nottingham, you'll be covering projects across the UK, offering opportunities to travel!
Role Overview
Want to be part of it? As a SHEQ Advisor, you’ll play a key role within our Site Project Teams, providing day-to-day SHEQ advice on high-profile projects, working directly with site teams and customer representatives. You’ll be the main contact for liaising with customers, regulatory bodies, stakeholders, community groups, and other key individuals.
Responsibilities
* Proactively manage SHEQ issues on site, including client liaison, ensuring investigations and actions are completed timely, in line with requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement and positive safety cultures within operational activities and processes.
* Identify learning opportunities and best practices in Health & Safety.
* Implement SHEQ policies and procedures to ensure legislative compliance.
* Conduct site inductions for project staff and subcontractors.
* Attend liaison meetings across departments and with clients.
* Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards.
Qualifications and Skills
* Knowledge of CDM legislation.
* Minimum NEBOSH general/construction certificate.
* IEMA / IOSH Foundation in Environmental Management (desirable).
* Experience in an engineering environment, especially rigging & overhead line construction, and knowledge of overhead line and sub-station industries (desirable).
* Excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office.
* Full UK driving license, with willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed.
