Job Description Summary

Job title: AI Security Specialist

Salary: £72,702 - £85,000 per annum (outside London); £84,051 - £95,000 per annum (London)

Location: Leeds, Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester, London

Hours: Full-time – 35 hours

Working Pattern: Hybrid – at least two days per week or 40% of time at an office site.

What You’ll Be Doing

How do you help an organization adopt artificial intelligence at scale while keeping customers, colleagues and systems safe? As an AI Security Specialist you’ll play a key role in protecting AI across Lloyds Banking Group. You’ll help shape and embed our AI Security strategy, support safe adoption, and understand how attackers exploit AI. You’ll work with engineering and data teams to build security controls into AI systems from the start. You’ll assess and strengthen AI platforms, commission testing and adversarial assessments, and translate findings into practical actions. You’ll design and deploy AI‑driven security capabilities such as threat detection, anomaly detection and incident response. You’ll advise on risk, compliance and regulation to meet industry standards as AI technologies evolve. This role has real impact on high‑profile technology shaping the future of banking.

Skills and Experience Required

• Relevant experience in Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or a related area (5+ years exp)
• Substantial experience in Cyber Security, securing AI systems and/or public cloud applications (5+ years exp)
• Solid understanding of cyber security principles and controls: IAM, encryption, network security, secure application design
• Hands‑on experience in public cloud security engineering and configuring/operating security tooling such as WAFs (2+ years exp)
• Solid knowledge of AI technologies: machine learning concepts, model architectures, generative AI capabilities
• Experience with security frameworks and regulations (ISO 27001, NIST, UK GDPR) (5+ years exp)
• Demonstrated experience in risk assessments, threat modelling, security audits (5+ years exp)
• Good communication, project management and organisational skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate across teams and prioritise competing demands in a fast‑paced environment
