Role Overview
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, perfect for a proactive professional with strong technical expertise and a strategic outlook. We are working with a well-established and growing engineering/manufacturing business based in Hoddesdon, seeking to appoint a Financial Controller to lead their finance function.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
2. Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts and year-end statutory reports.
3. Supervise AP/AR, payroll, and other core financial processes.
4. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
5. Provide financial insight and support to the senior leadership team.
6. Liaise with external auditors, banks, and tax advisors.
7. Lead process improvements using Microsoft 365 tools.
8. Build performance dashboards and reporting tools using Excel and Power BI.
Candidate Profile
1. ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
2. Experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
3. Strong experience with financial systems and reporting.
4. Advanced Excel skills and confident use of Microsoft 365 (Power BI, Teams, SharePoint).
5. Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
6. Detail-oriented with a hands-on, proactive mindset.
