Sobell House is an NHS hospice within Oxford University Hospitals Trust specially designed to provide Palliative and End of Life Care and support for patients and their families with advanced incurable disease. We provide specialist care aiming to focus on quality of life and respecting the uniqueness of each person.
We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative individual to join our team at Sobell House as Deputy Ward Manager on a month secondment. As part of the senior nursing team you will assist the Ward Manager in providing excellent clinical and managerial leadership and will have the opportunity to gain an insight into the Ward Manager role. You will be supported to develop the necessary skills and expertise to carry out appraisals, staff development and as a line manager you will take responsibility of a team comprising of staff at a variety of band levels.

Main duties of the job
We are looking for innovative nurses keen to develop their managerial skills and with the ability to problem solve, demonstrate leadership, and be motivated to support the Ward Manager in clinical audit and research as well as role modelling and supporting junior team members and students. Clinical expertise and experience in palliative and end of life care are desirable for this post.
