People Manager (Charity) - Truro - Full Time £36-40k 12 Month Fixed term contract
Well Placed HR are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly respected organisation in the not-for-profit sector to recruit a People Manager. This is a varied and impactful role offering a combination of site-based working in Truro, one day per week from home and weekly travel across Cornwall.
This brand-new position is offered on a full-time basis, with exact working hours to be discussed with each candidate. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. With a headcount of 200, this is a pivotal role supporting operational services across Cornwall, providing both hands-on and strategic HR support to drive performance, improve culture, and embed best practice people processes.
Key Duties to include:
-Acting as a trusted partner to managers across services, providing expert guidance on all aspects of people management
-Taking the lead on complex employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances and investigations
-Working with managers to build confidence and capability in handling people issues
-Ensuring consistency, compliance, and quality across all HR policies, procedures and processes
-Supporting organisational change initiatives and service development projects
-Improving employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, induction and leavers
-Working alongside wider people teams to improve systems, communication and service delivery
This role would suit someone with:
-CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience
-Proven HR generalist experience across the full employee lifecycle
-The ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively across multi-site teams
-Demonstrable experience supporting change and driving improvements in people practices
