Operator Machining – Collins Aerospace

Job Description: Join our high‑tech machine shop to operate CNC machinery and produce low batch, high mix production runs of aircraft interior component parts.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate CNC machinery to produce parts in accordance with a daily production plan.
* Perform self‑inspection of repeat work using appropriate inspection equipment.
* Execute regular Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on the machinery.
* Communicate production issues and defects to the Team Lead and production engineering team.
* Support Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase production.
* Monitor and document operational performance and provide feedback to the Team Lead.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers and support teams.
* Maintain quality standards through understanding of the quality management system.
* Adhere to company EH&S and compliance guidelines and housekeeping, 5S and FOD rules.
Required Skills & Experience
* Previous machining background preferred.
* Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Experience with lean manufacturing techniques.
* Experience in completing projects for process improvement.
Preferred Skills & Experience
* Metallurgy knowledge – solid understanding of materials and their properties.
* CNC operating experience.
* Lean manufacturing familiarity.
* Microsoft Office proficiency for documentation and reporting.
* Process improvement experience.
