Key responsibilities:
* Define & Design - Lead HLD/LLD creation, interface specifications and NFR definition.
* Scale & Strengthen - Ensure performance, load and volumetric requirements are met.
* Lead & Deliver - Guide sprint teams in implementing backlog items using Agile practices.
* Secure & Assure - Embed secure coding, DevSecOps and test-driven development.
* Collaborate & Govern - Work across HMCTS stakeholders and suppliers with transparency.
* Automate & Optimise - Utilise CI/CD, Kubernetes and AI-assisted tooling to enhance efficiency.
To succeed, you will bring strong technical leadership experience within complex application environments, ideally in justice or public sector settings. You will have proven Java development expertise, experience defining system changes with business stakeholders and a strong understanding of non-functional requirements, integration design and scalable architectures within Agile, multi-supplier environments.
Essential qualifications:
* Strong Java development experience (e.g. Spring, Hibernate) and SQL/database design (DDL).
* Experience contributing to HLD/LLD and interface specifications.
* Experience with CI/CD tools and version control (Git/GitHub).
* Experience with Kubernetes and/or middleware configuration.
* Familiarity with secure coding practices and DevSecOps environments.
* Experience working in Agile squads using Jira and Confluence.
* Ability to work collaboratively across client and supplier teams.
