Staff Digital Design Engineer
The Precision Signal Chain Group (PSC) is a key technology franchise within ADI, developing industry-leading precision front-end solutions for Instrumentation, Industrial, Automotive, Healthcare, Communications, and Consumer applications. PSC is seeking a Principal (Lead) Digital Design Engineer to join our mixed-signal design team in developing state-of-the-art precision converter products with significant digital content. This role would span the entire product development cycle from concept phase through design, verification, implementation, and release to customers. There would be opportunities to collaborate within the wider ADI technical community and gain exposure to many technologies and products.
Responsibilities:
1. RTL Design and Implementation: Use Verilog and SystemVerilog to design digital blocks, subsystems, and top‑level designs.
2. Define and develop system-level architectures for complex digital designs
3. Lead technical teams on complex digital design projects
4. Collaborate across functions to drive innovative solutions
5. Engage directly with customers on technical requirements and solutions
6. Mentor engineers and help develop technical talent
7. Specification Ownership: Write detailed block and subsystem-level specifications for design and implementation.
8. Digital Backend: Perform block‑ and top‑level linting, CDC analysis, and power analysis. Assist with synthesis constraints and timing closure.
9. Mixed‑Signal Integration: Communicate closely with mixed-signal designers and verification engineers to support mixed‑signal simulations and real‑number modeling across the analog/digital boundary.
10. Documentation and Design Reviews: Prepare technical documentation and lead architecture, design, and peer reviews.
11. Lab Evaluation and Debug: Support silicon bring‑up, characterization, and debug activities.
12. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Collaborate across analog, digital, verification, test, and product definition teams to define requirements, support production test development, and ensure successful product execution.

Previous Experience/Skills Needed & Education Requirements:
13. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience
14. 8-12 years of relevant experience in digital design engineering
15. Strong hands-on RTL coding experience and debugging skills.
16. Knowledge of digital design for data filter/processing, MATLAB experience beneficial
17. FPGA prototyping beneficial
18. Knowledge of system on-chip solutions with processors (ARM preferred)
19. Knowledge of processor architectures and bus fabric protocols (AHB,AXI,…)
20. Knowledge of digital interfaces (SPI/I2C/SPMI/I3C/UART/…).
21. Knowledge of UVM beneficial
22. Experience in mentoring junior engineers is desirable
23. Proven analytical and problem solving skills
