The purpose of the role is to co-ordinate factory production and logistics enabling Space4 to produce high quality products, on time and within the budgeted cost. Primary Responsibilities Manufacturing Effectively utilise labour, materials, plant and equipment so as to maintain manufacturing costs within controlled budgetary parameters. Ensure that manufacturing methods and techniques are constantly measured, recommending change where appropriate and assisting the Manufacturing Manager with the agreed project actions. Systems / Standards Monitor and action shortages of supplied materials liaising with internal operations team. Ensure Team work to process using Standard operating methods with the ability to prioritise work & people. Manage housekeeping standards as laid down by your manager & required expectations. Monitor internal stock management system to effectively plan outward deliveries ensuring that all electronic records are maintained. Ensure that all vehicle start up checks are carried out in line with supplier agreed TPM schedules and working with the supplier service departments in the event of any breakdowns and anomalies. Capture holiday requests on Access Select HR using judgement along with company policy to approve or decline. Quality / Process Improvement To constantly monitor / audit quality standards, health and safety standards, and personnel standards to implement and maintain the best possible practices. Identify opportunities to improve productivity and quality. Ensure that logistics methods and techniques are constantly measured, recommending change where appropriate and implementing the agreed actions. Co-ordinating regular reviews with agency providers to ensure standards are maintained. Ensure that all inward goods paperwork systems are controlled in a timely manner. Environmental, Health and Safety To carry out work safely and in the interests of all employees in accordance with the EHS procedures manual and summarised in the EHS responsibilities matrix. Manage and confirm that the traffic management system is updated and adhered to. Daily audit of PPE conformance and housekeeping. What experience do I need? Supervisory/Managerial experience in a high tempo environment Organisational skills to allow coping with multiple tasks and priorities in a fast moving automotive-type environment and with a high commitment to quality Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal A strong team player with the tenacity to drive, instil confidence in and gain respect from the workforce while supporting management An ability to work under pressure Computer literate with an eye for detail A strong, proactive, and enthusiastic team player with a “can do” attitude Shift Working You will be required to work 37 hours per week. The Company is required to operate shifts compatible with customer requirements. All staff must be prepared to work any shift pattern that may be required to ensure that we provide an excellent service at all times. Shifts will be based around a 6-2, 2-10 and 10-6 shift rotation or anything deemed necessary to support the business needs as follows. The Company will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of a requirement to work shifts or change shift patterns.
