The role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Storage Consultant with strong hands-on expertise in Dell PowerMax and SRDF Metro, to deliver enterprise storage solutions for high-profile customers in regulated environments.This is a customer-facing professional services role, working on critical infrastructure programmes where resilience, performance, and data availability are paramount.UK based remote role6 month contractInside IR35Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support Dell PowerMax storage environmentsDeploy and troubleshoot SRDF Metro (active/active replication)Deliver high availability and disaster recovery solutions across multi-site environmentsLead and support storage migration projects (VMAX → PowerMax, PowerMax → PowerMax)Produce key project deliverables (HLD/LLD, migration plans, test & back-out plans)Work with infrastructure teams on SAN, zoning, masking, and host connectivitySupport enterprise platforms (VMware, Oracle, SQL Server, Windows, Linux/AIX)Provide guidance on RPO/RTO, resilience, and operational riskTroubleshoot across storage, SAN, and replication layersRequired ExperienceStrong hands-on experience with Dell EMC PowerMaxProven SRDF Metro experience in production environmentsSolid understanding of SRDF (SRDF/S, SRDF/A, consistency groups, failover)Experience with Unisphere, SYMCLI, and Dell storage toolingStrong Fibre Channel SAN knowledge (Brocade preferred, Cisco beneficial)Experience with storage provisioning, masking, zoning, multipathingBackground delivering enterprise projects / professional services engagementsStrong troubleshooting and documentation skillsDesirable SkillsExperience in Banking / Financial Services / regulated environmentsPowerMax / VMAX migration programmesKnowledge of PowerPath, MPIO (Linux/Windows/AIX), VMwareExposure to Oracle RAC, SQL Server, IBM Power/AIXUnderstanding of DR testing, cyber recovery, or performance tuningProfileStrong customer-facingmunication skillsAble to work independently and deliver end-to-end solutionsMethodical and detail-oriented with strong documentation disciplineTypical ProjectsPowerMax deployments and refresh programmesSRDF Metro implementations across data centresData centre migrations and consolidationVMAX → PowerMax transformation initiativesEnterprise DR and resilience programmes #4798120 - Karl Randall
