As they scale our operations, we are looking for a proactive and driven Financial Controller to take full ownership of their finance function. The Role
As Financial Controller, you will be the number one in finance, responsible for leading and developing all financial processes, controls and reporting across the business. You will be hands-on in the day-to-day operations while also providing strategic insight to support decision-making at senior level. This role will suit someone who is motivated, ambitious, and eager to grow with the business as they expand internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Leadership & Ownership
Take full responsibility for the end-to-end finance function
Partner closely with the business owners to provide financial insight and strategic recommendations
Develop and implement robust financial controls, processes and systems
Financial Reporting & Compliance
Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements and board reporting
Ensure compliance with UK and US accounting standards and statutory requirements
Oversee tax submissions and liaise with external accountants (UK and US)
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process
Produce insightful financial analysis to support commercial decisions
Monitor company performance and highlight opportunities, risks and trends
Cashflow & Investment Management
Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital
Support the owners with investment planning, modelling and due diligence
Oversee banking and investment activity.
US Expansion & Accounting
Ensure accurate accounting and reporting for US operations
Maintain understanding of US GAAP and relevant tax requirements
Support operational teams as the company grows across America
Operational & Hands-On Duties
Manage day-to-day finance tasks (AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, month-end)
Implement process improvements and optimise financial workflows
Work with external auditors, advisors and tax partners

Essential Experience & Skills
Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or QBE (Qualified by Experience)
Experience in an SME environment, ideally as a Financial Controller or similar role
Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards
Understanding of US GAAP, US tax considerations and cross-border operations
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
