Overview
Following our client’s successful launch of their Newbury unit earlier this year, they are expanding their commercial team. The Newbury team has secured long‑term contracts beyond budget, creating a stable order book for a bright future.
Position
Quantity Surveyor – Full time (part‑time option available). Experience working directly with labour teams and time sheets.
Responsibilities
* Actively tender, estimate and measure work onsite.
* Prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders, highlighting commercial risks.
* Prepare cost value reconciliations, identify risks and opportunities for correct contract planning.
* Work with the Contracts Manager to agree productivity labour targets and issue incentives.
* Build strong client and supplier relations; discuss variations and progress, seeking mutual solutions.
* Complete and analyse weekly site reporting with adequate cost information (labour rates, budgets, progress, quality, safety).
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in estimating and surveying, from tender through to final account.
* Experience managing value of works up to £3 million annually.
* Knowledge of painting, plastering, brickwork, roofing, civils or new‑build QS background preferred.
* Strong commercial, analytical and accurate approach with entrepreneurial spirit.
* Collaboration skills – honest, organised, a people person who thrives with clients, trade teams and colleagues.
