Regional Support Manager
Location: Stoke‑On‑Trent, Crewe and Cheshire (North West Region)
Salary: £55,000 per annum + £5,000 car allowance.
Must be Nurse qualified. Enhanced DBS check required.
Job Purpose
* The Regional Support Manager will support any home within the region and be flexible in terms of travel.
* They will report to the Regional Manager.
* They will work closely with the Regional Manager and each Home’s management team to ensure action plans are completed in a timely manner, implement improvements and enhance quality standards.
* They will help the region achieve a “minimum” good CQC outcome in all homes, championing quality throughout.
* They will support the financial performance of the services, ensuring budgets are met.
* This is a “hands‑on” role where they will provide practical operational support to homes as required.
* The Regional Support Manager will manage or support homes where the Manager is absent due to a vacancy, leave or sickness.
* They will support new Managers and managers experiencing operational issues.
* In the absence of a Regional Manager, they will deputise for them.
Principal Role & Accountabilities
* Support the delivery of the Service Improvement Plan and participate in the monitoring of its elements.
* Assist in the implementation and ongoing management of new systems, including EMAR and electronic care planning.
* Lead, direct, supervise and support employees working within the region.
* Support efficient and effective regional management within available resources.
* Support recruitment in line with Harbour Healthcare policy and procedure.
* Provide induction training and ongoing supervision to staff as required.
* Promote good communication within the service; champion key elements such as Stand‑up and Resident of the Day.
* Support the region and employees with HR issues and performance, manage probationary periods and disciplinary matters.
* Ensure the emotional, spiritual, physical, medical and material needs of residents are recognised, assessed and met where possible, including regular reviews and care plan formulation in liaison with other professionals.
* Involve residents in decision‑making about activity, lifestyle and matters in the home that may affect them.
* Support building maintenance and equipment management.
* Assist in implementing systems that meet Health and Safety legislative requirements such as risk assessments, fire records and COSHH files.
* Ensure mandatory training requirements are met and keep up‑to‑date individual training records for all employees.
